How Much Money Do You Earn?
While the average American is suffering due to a poor economy, the elite in government are getting richer everyday and being paid incredible benefits and outrageous retirements. You have recently heard about city officials in California receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in salaries in cities where the average constituent earns $30,000 a year. You’ve seen cities tell citizens like Oakland, California not to call the police if your house is burglarized, because they will not respond to the call. There are cities now charging you to send an ambulance or a fire truck to your house, don’t our taxes pay for that? You’ve seen teachers demanding “Viagra” as a RIGHT and unions refusing to take a reduction in salaries and benefits to keep from laying off employees.
Now it’s time to look at the people in Washington. Yes, the ones that are supposed to work for us, but refuse to listen to the people they are supposed to represent. Why are we paying huge salaries and benefit packages to these people who are not doing the job they were sent to Washington in the first place. Did you know that your representatives get an automatic annual salary increase (COLA), while Social Security DOES NOT?

Why is it we pay these kind of salaries in such a bad economy when these are the people that insist on spending money that doesn’t exist? Why is it their salaries are not dependant on the actual economy or on the merit of the job they are actually doing? Why is it they are not taking salary cuts to help the economy? Why are these salaries so high for people who are supposed to be volunteering to take public service positions?
We need salary caps for all government employees along with REASONABLE retirement packages along with TERM LIMITS for all government employees. We also need to have rules that do not allow government officials to vote themselves salary increases without a public vote. We need rules that automatically remove an elected official if they break their campaign promises, change parties after being elected or are convicted of any and all crimes.
When are we going to wake up and remember that America and you come first, NOT the government? Do not listen to anyone’s political rhetoric, get your own facts, get the TRUTH!
